External Workflows Can Leave Systems in Invalid States
Observation: Many operational workflows in modern platforms span multiple independent systems: virtualization layers, storage platforms, backup tools and automation hooks. These workflows often assume successful execution across all steps. However, when a failure occurs in the middle of the chain, the system may be left in an intermediate state that no component fully owns. In one such case, a backup workflow froze a virtual machine before taking a storage snapshot.
